TV apps

Post by theagilepad »

I am starting a new thread here as the Summer Academy is locked.

TV apps are the next big area and the big manufacturers are beginning to launch TVs that run apps. Google is launching Google TV. Check out http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/05/pana ... turers-sd/

It would be great for runrev to launch capability in this area as they have for iPhone and Android.

Incidentally, on the previous thread talked about the difficulties of a remote control UI but I have seen it done.

Back in the 1995, I worked on video on demand trials where we used an Apple Set Top Box running a product called Oracle Card. The product is no longer but it used the same language as runrev - Hypertalk. We ran trials of this service with 2,500 users over ADSL.

Hi Paul,

yes, I remember this one, it was called OMO (Oracle Media Objects).
Very cool, very promising AND crossplatform (Mac/Win).

Too bad they did not continue its development.
