I wrote a similar post regarding my concerns over the look of text in a Windows standalone the other week, but feel like I didn't explain myself properly. So I am giving it another try.
I work on a Mac at home and for my consultancy jobs which are largely graphic based assignments. Recently I have started a part time day job which requires me to use a PC.
I have found from using a PC with programs like Word, etc… that the clarity of text on the screen is nowhere near the clarity of text on the screen of a Mac. I don't know the right terminology to describe this (maybe text resolution, or text rendering?), but on a PC the text definitely looks jagged and on a Mac it looks more rounded.
Now, I am about to output my Rev project (as a standalone) which consists of several cards all of which have scrolling text boxes and labels (read only - the user cannot edit any text). I have compiled a test standalone and on my Mac the text looks great, but on a PC the text is as described above.
The PC I tested was running Windows XP. I also checked it on a PC running Windows 10, which looked considerably better, but not as good as a Mac.
The question is: Is there anything I can do to make the text on a PC look as good as the text on a Mac?
If so - could someone please explain it to me in simple terms… I am (obviously) not a programmer.
Cheers,
Peter

Re: Text in a Windows standalone?
Forgot to mention that the font I use is Arial.
Also - I just realised that this post is in the "Commercial Developers" section of this forum - sorry if it is misplaced, I didn't notice as I always access this forum from a bookmark and I think this web site has changed lately...
