Let down big time (and because of a third party)

Post by ceg » Wed Dec 17, 2008 10:22 pm

I understand there have been some issues with the delivery of RunRev Live 2008 DVDs to customers, and unfortunately after numerous emails and faxes to Kevin Miller; we still haven't gotten ours some two months later.

This is very disappointing, and I don't mean to let off steam or rant, but clearly the issue is down to Runtime's third party provider and it has caused major disruption to us getting a new developer up to speed, so much so that I have switched them onto Xp9 for some of our immediate cross platform work; and spending significant $$$'s getting there aswell.

More time seems to be spent on sending out glossy emails to tempt us into buying more; rather than the core logistics of fulfilling customer demand.

Come on Kevin, this has got to get better...

One solution to this problem would be to offer a downloadable version of the DVDs. I was going to order the DVD sets. But after hearing of the delivery problems I am going to put that order on hold.

I would be really pissed-off if I shelled out $250.00 and after 2 months did not receive my order.

Ditto -- the time is past when I pay for physical delivery of software. It's too easy to get things lost in the mail.

Can't say what's going on there (maybe distribution problems?), but I can report that my dvd set arrived in a timely manner. I had completely forgotten that this would be an *eight*-dvd set. I'm a bit overwhelmed.

My DVD set arrived soon after they sent me an email to confirm it was shipping. So the problem is probably due to the distribution, and perhaps the shipping company has no idea where it is.

Nothing to do with Rev, but a year ago, I was sent a payment reminder for an invoice for goods that I never received; I promptly contacted that company, and they filed a complaint with the postal services - two week later, the goods suddenly did show up.
