Getting data to an App using the 'share menu'

Hello all,

I'm looking at creating an app that gets some data (text) from the Android share menu and does some processing on it. So basically the user selects some text and then uses the 'share' menu to send it to the App.

Is this supported? has anyone managed to do something similar?
