LOCAL Notifications still exist after removing app

I have built an iOS app that creates notifications in relation to dates entered by the user. If I delete the app then the notifications still exist which would be annoying to a user who decided that they did not want to use the app. Is there anyway to remove the notifications when the user removes the app from their phone?
