Messages stop at startup

On my pre-standalone stack my opencard handler for card 1 works fine. But when I create a standalone, the opencard handler for card 1 does not get called.
Any ideas?

I found the problem. It was a start using command that messed- up the message path. Thanks so much for offering a hand.
