I cannot finalize the install...

Post by sbouju » Sun Aug 05, 2012 10:16 am

Just begennning with the Android deployment of LiveCode, my installation efforts stop with the (joined) alert, when telling LiveCode 5.5.1 (Preferences, Mobile support...) where to find the freshly installed Android Development SDK (Laptop PC with Windows 7).

What can I do now ?

Welcome to the forums!

I have gotten that same message many times, and each time it scares me. But really, it's not hard to fix. :)
Have you installed the Android SDK? It will be located at 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk'.

If you have, open the SDK Manager and install the three items I have shown (SDK Tools, SDK Platform-tools, and Android 2.2 SDK Platform)

Then try leading Livecode to the \android-sdk folder via the above path.

If it still doesn't work, post again and I'll tell you more.

Dave

Yes, of course, I did that, but the "Android SDK Installer" accept to install me only default (?) and latest components (4.1 version), and later, don't want uninstall them, neither install olders one.

I just tried (one more time...) to completly uninstall the Android SDK, then install it again, and this time it worked, with quite exactly the same 3 components installed. Thank you for the encouragements! :)

Yes, I had the exact same problem once, and I did the same thing.

So I assume you can export Android .apk's and everything?

If you have any more problems with an exporting or set-up issue within the next couple of weeks, you can post it here and we'll try to answer it.

Glad I could help.

Dave

OK, thank you!

And yes, I have been able to export my first "Hello world!" application as "test.apk" to my Samsung phone, install it, and finally run it :)

Best regards,
