Data Grid Helper problems

Post by bonbon » Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:09 pm

I am getting nowhere fast with the trial version of DGH - please can someone put me on the right track ?

Situation:

I downloaded the trial version of DGH, and installed it as a plugin. It offered the option of upgrading to the latest version (1.5.3.1 December 2011), which I did. (Please note: I use Revolution Studio version 3.5 (Build 870; Version 3.5.0) on a Windows XP Home machine.)

I am trying to set up a datagrid with a checkbox in a couple of columns, and I followed the tutorial on "How do I create a checkbox in a column ?" (see http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/m/4 ... n-a-column).

Problems:
- After dragging a datagrid onto a stack, when I double-click the datagrid, I get the following error message:
Commands: missing ','
Object DG_columnEditor
Line Êif (tTheHeaderClicked is not empty) then
Hint then
- I close the error box, and continue with the tutorial, adding 3 columns. However, I cannot rename them in the Column Builder; the default column names appear to be read-only. I got around this by applying the changes, closing the Column Builder, and changing the column names in the Columns section of the normal Property editor.

- Now I need to drag a checkbox into the Column Content area of the Column builder, so I double-click the datagrid again, and click Edit to bring up the Column Builder. The tutorial says to double-click on the "Checkbox" header, but this opens the Column Content for the FIRST column - it will not let me select the second or third columns.

At this point I gave up. Please can anyone help me to get started ?

Had a reply from Zryip, who explained that DGH has been tested on versions 4.0 upwards. I know ... I really should save up my pocket money for an upgrade ...
