If you need to make web sites, there's certainly no shortage of tools to do that. And since browsers all come with exactly one language for interactivity, JavaScript, we don't need to spend a lot of time choosing a language because it's not like we have any choice in the matter anyway.

I tend to use LC in many ways that support my web development, but I never expected it to be a web authoring tool; I mainly use it for making desktop and mobile apps, which it's quite good at, being designed for that job.
I use my web tools for web apps, I write my shell scripts in Bash, and I use GIMP to make graphics. Right tool for the right job.
