Dictionary endorsement

Post by Josh » Thu Jan 03, 2013 3:23 pm

Hi all,

I know this is potentially off-topic (which is where I asked about the hard copy dictionaries about three months ago). However, I do want to endorse them here for beginners. I just received my dictionary today and it's great! I'd have never known about several things (e.g., accelKey) without perusing the book. I'm actually reading it cover-to-cover and making notes on particular things that I want to use and share with colleagues.

The LiveCode document has much (or all) of the same content, but you have to know specifically what you want to do to locate it (e.g., know the keyword to look it up). I'm actually reading through the dictionary and have come across over a dozen functions that will be very useful (and would have been useful to know about with earlier projects). I think you'll be pretty happy with it, too.
