How do I stop the iphone from going to sleep?

I want to have my app keep the phone/screen on. The user might not tap on the screen very frequently in this particular app but when they do, they would want the screen to still be on.

My app is already out in the app store. It's a number tracking application. You tap to increment numbers and it's really easy to track multiple numbers without ever even using the onscreen keyboard.
