Open the forums for reading please

Post by malte » Sat Apr 15, 2006 9:30 pm

Hi,

I really would like to see the forums open for reading even for unregistred users. You could disable the ability to post as a guest, if spam is a concern. But it really should be open to read. It is a motivation to register, if you can see the useful information as a guest and I think it is no good idea to rule out all people who want to lurk before they post any questions or tricks.

All the best,

Malte

It's a "me too" for this one. Being able to lurk (a) builds up confidence for newbies and (b) allows us to decide whether the forum's likely to be worth signing up for.
