Re: Summer Academy

Post by rumplestiltskin » Tue May 10, 2011 8:49 pm

I was sent an eMail with a link to purchase the Academy for $50 (as I recently purchased the OmegaBundle). Paid for this an hour or so ago. Do I need to wait for a password and a link to be sent to me or is there a link where I enter some number that was part of my purchase receipt?

TIA,
Barry

That was the first summer academy webinar.

In the end it was just a hyperlink.
No password was neccessary.

Both presenters spoke very well.
It was obivious they had done this before and were well practiced.
Calm, cool, and collected.

After a week of research and a week of study on LiveCode,
the first session was a confirmation of what I had already learned.
But I did learn 1 or 2 new things.

Only 1 or 2 things were missed I think are important for the first session though.

If you bought Live Code some time ago, you can sign up for a fee of $50 , which is what I have done. Search around the website ; it is tucked away in a quiet corner. Failing that send an email to support. I have had a look at the first webinar, and the pdf text, and am regretting having paid for it. If you are not familiar with Scottish accents, the webinar is a struggle to follow ! The textual resources seem to be based on the Manual, so one might as well follow that, I guess.

The sound quality on the webinar is poor, as it appears to have been recorded at the Conference. Still, I haven't spent all that much time on it, so it may be too soon to judge.

Any other thoughts from other beginners ?

If you're writing about signing up for the summer academy,
I'd suggest having a good look around in the summer academy forum.

Some of the things on offer are very well worth the money.

You'll understand once you start getting involved a bit more.

I'm still surprised with the value I'm getting
not only with theOmegaBundle but
with the level of support and commitment from the RunRev team.

Plus being able to learn how to develop for iOS and Android and WinMo etc. using a very easy to learn language.

Okay; I'm game. But I do a search for "summer academy" and it only shows this thread. Would you mind posting the link to that forum or tell me the hierarchy? Thanks!

I'm thinling you should have received a link to the Summer Academy forum with a user ID n password in an email.

If you don't have one you'll need to ask Heather from RunRev support.

Looking forward to reading you there.
