iPod Touch or iPhone?

I've been thinking about trying RevMobile, and getting an iPod Touch instead of an iPhone. Apart from the obvious differences of the Touch not having a phone, can you use the iPod for development instead of an iPhone?

sure, an iPod Touch is in fact an iPhone but without the phone
I also own an iPod Touch and no iPhone.
