[ANN] Live LiveCode code event nr. two
Dearest scripters
This Saturday the streamed insanity continues! More! Better! Ribbon!
We (Yes, we're a 'we' now!) even got a new cozy place. But beware, it's not furnished yet. The hauling truck is scheduled to arrive on friday evening:
http://www.livecode.tv
Times (two hours later then last time):
Zurich: 20:00
Buenos Aires: 16:00
New York: 14:00
San Francisco: 11:00
Sydney: 06:00
We have more topics and more presenters (note to self: fix to represent reality):
- Bjoernke will steal an idea from the use list and present various entry-restricted fields.
- David will show how to create iPhone GUIs using pre-made groups of objects.
- Mark will create a simple socket tutorial, and present his installer plugin.
Like last time, the real deal is when you join ChatRev and demand weird things from the presenters. Like for example, that we explain how to start LiveCode.
Ok, now _that_ is a horrible question. See how boring we are? We desperately need your ideas!
At any time (or the time mentioned above), join here:
http://bjoernke.com?target=chatrev
or:
go stack URL "http://bjoernke.com/chatrev/chatrev1.3b3.rev"
Meanwhile, we've got homework for y'all. The Question is: When to do future shows, assuming we do them weekly? Please vote on your preferred show-day (Vote not applicable to next show):

Have Fun!

I would like, and I will try to stay there, but I don't know If I will be much active, because I can't understand english very well.
Great iniciative otherwise
As advice, for other events for example...something working with databases for example..building the app from zero could be interesting for newbies like me, but..well...I don't know if there are too much newbies attending this

Hi glpunzi,
Perhaps you should e-mail Björnke with your ideas.
There will be video recordings. You can participate in the event and watch the videos again to make sure you didn't miss anything.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi,
BvG, ChatRev crash to me in Fedora 14 trying to resize the window, or writing..I don't know if you readed my message before LiveCode freezes.
I will try later from my Mac, because I would like to assist to the event, and ChatRev refuses to work in my Linux box
I see thath there are a Linux binary in http://economy-x-talk.com/chatrev.html but links doesn't works.
See you

Hi glpunzi,
That's right, you'll have to use Björnke's client for now. The Economy-x-Talk is being restructured (you can see the different between the lay-out on the main page and the old ChatRev page). My binaries will be up again, but I can't say when. You can make your own Linux binary with Björnke's stack.
Best regards,
Mark

Re: [ANN] Live LiveCode code event nr. two
Hi
This is a reminder that the show will start in about an hour. We had terrible technical issues to get multiple hosts onto the same stream, therefore we will simply do 3 different streams, one after another.
For people wanting to watch, that means that the first half hour will be Davids stream, after that it's Mark and I'll be last.
More info here:
http://livecode.tv/
make sure to join ChatRev, so you get the info about when to change to which stream. Everything is live, so short term schedule changes (aka. running late) will happen.

first half hour stream:
http://livecode.tv/david/
second half hour stream:
http://livecode.tv/mark/
third half hour stream:
http://livecode.tv/bvg/
after that:

Re: [ANN] Live LiveCode code event nr. two
Heya guys,
Although I turned up (woke up) a little late, I was there. I could not however, get ChatRev to connect to the chat.
I was clicking the connect button, but it just reverted back to disconnect. I tried registering with a few different logins etc.. but no joy.
Any pointers on why I wasn't able to login to the chat server?
Cheers,
A.

Hallo A,
Which operating system do you use?
Do you have a firewall or router? Are you sure that port 8008 can be accessed with your setup?
Best,
Mark

Oh what a show!
In all the excitement, we forgot to publicate the end of show blog entry! Happily, that's an easy fix. Go to the following place to download some of the presented stacks (as mentioned during the show, David's stuff is still a bit hard to get, but he's working on it):
http://livecode.tv/2010/12/about-widget ... -a-ribbon/
PS for theSlug: Please send me your contact info, so I can send you the ribbon (Wishes about what to write onto ribbon also accepted).
