Waveform Widget

Post by pklum »

Hi,
I have created a FREE "Waveform" widget that allows you to display an audio waveform.

The widget supports:
  • mono and stereo files in MP3, WAV, and FLAC formats.
  • Stereo channels can be displayed separately or overlaid on top of each other.
  • Zooming and panning within the waveform (along the time axis) can be controlled via parameters or interactively using mouse click-and-drag or the scroll wheel.
  • A grid—including labels that adjust based on the zoom level—can be enabled. Time labels can be set to "Seconds," "Samples," or "SMPTE," and amplitude levels can be displayed as "%" or "dB" (decibels).
  • A data marker can be displayed to show individual sample values.
  • RGBA colors can be set individually for the widget background, left/right channels, labels, grid, and the data marker's text and background.
I’m fairly new to forums. How do I go about pasting screenshots of the widget, publish download a link and providing contact details in the forum?

Best regards,
Peter

hi Peter,

sounds great!

You need seven postings before you can post images, links etc.
So one more posting and you can promote you widget here! :-)

Best

Peter.

We will not mind if you post a handful of nearly blank messages to get over the hump.

Hi,
Sounds good – thanks!

I’ll make a small change to the widget and then try again.

Hi,
I am releasing a FREE Waveform Widget. The widget has been tested in Livecode Create 1.0 (DP12) Classic Mode.

Image

"Waveform" is an advanced audio waveform widget with mono/stereo support and DAW-like pan/zoom features. Supports MP3, WAV and FLAC audio files in stereo or mono. Developed for macOS (Intel, Apple Silicon and Universal) and Windows (X86-64).

Use the waveform widget to show stereo or mono audio waveform data with full RGBA color picker support, interactive marquee or scroll-wheel zooming, mouse or scroll-wheel panning, adaptive time/amplitude grids and data marker. Format the timeline in "samples", "seconds" or "SMPTE" and the amplitude in "%" or "dB" (decibel). Show separate channels or overlay channels on top of each other. Use widget messages to synchronize multiple waveform widgets or set play position in an player object.

Simply

Code: Select all

set the audioPath of widget <myWidget> to <audioPath>
to view the waveform of an MP3, WAV or FLAC audio file.

If you find bugs or have suggestion for features, please contact mailto:contact@Appic.se
