Unable to access a website with browser widget in LiveCode App
Hi,
Need some help.
I have a browser widget embedded in a LiveCode app. I'm trying to access the site https://commerce.health.state.ny.us/public. Previously have been able to successfully log in to this site via the app. Now this has stopped working. No LiveCode errors - just when I type in the username and password it returns with the login page with "Login failed! Please check the User ID and password and try again." on the webpage itself.
I am using 10.0 (dp 5) but have also used 9.6.13. Using Windows 10 also.
Have tried contacting the website - but have not heard any response for a few months.
I believe it has to do with some sort of change in the security requirements of the webpage and not any changes to LiveCode. Is this possible? And if so, any thoughts on correcting this? Or is it possible access information from this site without the use of the widget browser?
John

Usually that means no one knows the answer. It may be that the site expects manual typing to avoid bots from accessing the content. Or is that what you're doing already?

Hi,
Yes I am typing in my username and password.
Called IT at the site and they had no answer other than to recommend Chrome or Edge.
For fun I tried LiveCode Community 9.6.1 and I was able to access the site successfully. Thought that was interesting.
And hope no one took my post previously as offensive. Not my intent.

Re: Unable to access a website with browser widget in LiveCode App
You needed to check their requirements. Obviously, the widget now shows as embedded browser. Perhaps that's possible to change; it's likely that the older software you tried and worked did not do this.Browser Requirements section in the above website wrote:
Unsupported Browsers:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and older
Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile (Windows 8 Phone)
Safari for Windows (Desktop)
Browsers embeded in virtualized desktop software
Worth asking if they have an API but I suspect you may be out of luck.

Not at all, I think we all understand.

Hi Y'all
So After talking to IT at the site, all versions including LiveCode 10.0 (dp 5) allow connection/login.
Thanks.
Again, I was trying to sound funny with "165 views and no suggests/comments? Not 1?
".
Appreciate response.
Thank you.
John.

Did IT describe the source of the problem?
You've been around long enough, always good natured and appreciative, that no one here could mistake you for being rude. Glad you got the issue sorted.Again, I was trying to sound funny with "165 views and no suggests/comments? Not 1?![]()

Acturally, IT did not describe an issue.
They kept asking me if I needed my password reset, which I did not
I guess if the only tool in the tool box is a hammer, than everything looks like a nail.
Have other questions, but will make a new post
