Just saw this.

I have always wished for the ability to create an app for my own use alone on desktop, and make it go mobile. No need to inform anyone, especially Apple, that I did this. And I know that it would be possible for me to send such an app to friends, so I get why I cannot have it.

Do I understand that with LiteCode one can author an app on one's phone, and keep it there?

I would greatly dislike having to author on my phone at all, but still, is this so?

I did a search for "LiteCode" and turned up some GitHub repos for crypto tools. I'm assuming you're referring to something else, yes?

As for personal deployment, sideloading is as easy on Android as turning off a security switch, dropping the app in, and then turning the switch back on. Not sure why Apple doesn't yet provide that. When we consider the many use cases for small businesses who could benefit from internal bespoke apps, it's a shame that Apple's guidance is to switch to Android.

They do provide a process by which they'll let you usual your own apps on your own phone, but it requires going through them, submitting a pile of paperwork to prove you have rights to access the device you're holding in your hand.

I suspect by the time Senator Warren is done with them they'll become competitive in the internal bespoke space. But at the moment I know of no way to have app installation control over your Apple devices.
