This isn’t a “button” it’s a “widget” hence they can claim what they like.

In effect it’s the same thing as universalButton - see the link to Ralf’s GitHub repo above.

The reason I raised the matter of quotation marks was not by way of making cocktail party chitchat, but to point out a semantic concern.

While the Tools palette may contain things that are labelled 'button', 'field', and so on, as I tell children every summer who ask funny questions when they see a 'mouseUp' script inside an image, those labels are only good to a certain point, and like things labelled as a 'noun', an 'adjective', and so on, they can be used to perform many different functions when required.

Point well taken about labels only being good up to a certain point.
