RevWeb and mobile web site

Post by dme69 » Sat Nov 14, 2009 6:04 pm

Hello all,
I'm quite new to revolution (I was using supercard years ago) and I want to know what are the plans to maker this plugin works with a mobile phone (android and iphone).
Do you know if it is possible ?

And is it working with Opera browser because when I test with my opera browser (last one), it's not working. The plugin is in the list of plugins but nothing when i'm goind to the samples page ?

Thanks for your help and I really hope it will soon (or already) work on mobile. It will then be the best development platform ever !
;-)

As far as I know a separate product for mobile platforms (Windows Mobile, Maemo (Nokia), iPhone) is planned for Q4 2010.

The iPhone, at this time, doesn't allow any app that executes loaded code. Probably (by my guess) to prevent security or performance issues. But that would rule out anything Rev-based unless the result was compiled and the "do" command was disabled, as well as scripts editing scripts.

In short, anything that could modify the code on the iPhone itself is a no-no.

But maybe that rule will change when and if Apple breaks free of AT&T...

Some applications have a separate version for mobile phones. You might just need to find some that supported your phone model and OS. It is better to upgrade always for some newer application to make the like easier and fun.
