Sound generation
I was playing with my 1981 BBC Model B Micro this morning and knocking together a few tunes just for fun
(admittedly, saving them to the cassette drive with no way to export them as sound files jars a bit):
- -
That machine rocks; all 32 KB of RAM and its antique processor.
-
Then I messed around a spot on my Commodore 64.
-
I, then turned on my G5 iMac and started fooling around with sound in HyperCard.
-
How about sound generation capabilities in LiveCode?

Making music on the fretless bass:
Re: Sound generation
Very nice Bass Klaus
For music programs you need to go to:
http://dsprobotics.com/flowstone.html(was previously Synthmaker) Windows only.
Unfortunately they killed their own baby, so it's dead as hell. No progress anymore. They walked away from their main users, Vsti programmers/musicians.
So now you need to go to:
https://juce.com/ Multi-Platform which is entirely focused on musicians, creating Vsti, Instruments and effects and many more...but you need to know C++.

Re: Sound generation
Nice "love-in" between sphere and Klaus, but does detract from my FEATURE REQUEST.
Re: Sound generation
Soooooooooo sorry, Richmond!

Re: Sound generation
I agree with Richmond that it would be nice (as I've said before) to have sound abilities built into the language that do not depend on some specific platform item (quicktime, xanim, etc), so I really hope the company looks into bringing this feature to the language.
Having said that, and not wanting to detract from the topic at hand, I believe I've actually heard Klaus generate sound with that setup a few times (links left in various threads), so it isn't like he is completely off topic or something

Und Ganz Cool that you have been visiting and playing for the troops in Afganistan!
Very sorry Richmond...
But i agree if more audio capabilities where introduced in LC (like virtual instruments/effects/DAW, there will be a lot customers more.
