Actually, if this forum is using phpBB, they do offer it under that styles link I posted. They have whole reams of predefined styles, and you can actually create styles if you want to.FourthWorld wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:02 pmIt might be nice for PHPBB to offer per-user customization so each person can tailor the appearance. I suspect I'm probably just dreaming there.

End-user definable? From each member's Control Panel?

Re: The board changed?
Personally this new board format does me no favours at all.
I use an 2006/7 iMac running Mac OS 10.7.5 with a second monitor to read this board. The previous
version took up the whole width of my second monitor (1920 x 1080), and that was super, allowing me the main iMac monitor to mess around with LiveCode (1680 x 1050).
Now the new board takes up about 2/5 of the width of my second monitor, leaving socking great grey patches
on both sides.

I get the digest version and it is now full of spam ads - naked spam ads at that.

Re: The board changed?
I just went into the user control panel and I see there are two different html options. Mine was set to the first one, I've changed it to "html plain". If that doesn't work I'll change it to plain text. One of those should allow text wrap. I don't see any ads but I'm sure plain text would avoid those.

That may be worth bringing to the team's attention at support AT livecode.com

Re: The board changed?
Today’s digest was fine (as was yesterday’s).
I had changed my settings to a simpler html and all appeared nicely wrapped without any background colouring.
Re: The board changed?
You (not you, Richard, but in general or whoever manages the boards options ) could indeed ask for board member submissions, they have templates for creating themes available.
Alternately (and what most boards do), the powers that be would download however many styles you want directly from their styles db and put those in the /Styles folder for the board on the server. There are a LOT of them there, any member could choose from what you put in that folder from their control panel.
Other boards that I've been a member of usually limit it to anywhere from 10-20 of these themes, but it does give the end user something to personalize the view of the board with. The end user would simply pick from a drop down list. How much interchangeability goes with it, I don't know, I haven't seen the setup for options as I've never run the boards directly but I'm sure there is some available, just as I'm sure the file extensions Max asked about are available.

Thanks, Bogs. Interesting idea. Maybe submit it to Support for consideration.

Re: The board changed?
I'd be most grateful if you could post a screenshot showing where that setting is as I cannot find it.
Re: The board changed?
Um, richmond62 I think they are talking about the format the digest comes in, you can find it in the digest options of the cp. It won't affect the way the board is laid out in general (i.e. with your monitor viewing issue).
On the other side of that, though, the rss view works out surprisingly well, only missing the Metacard section in that.
