Widget store

Post by Fjord »

On https://livecode.com/products/widgets/ I found a Calendar widget which I want to try. I downloaded it and got a file "community.livecode.elanor.calendar.1.0.0.lce".
I suppose that widget should appear in the tools palette of the IDE, but I dont know where I should copy the file. Any help?

Hi Fjord,

in LC go to menu -> Tools -> Extension Manager
On the "Widgets" tab click the PLUS sign at the topright, select the LCE file and it will install automatically! :D

Requires LC >=8, if I remember correctly.

Thank you.
The Calendar widget doesn't seem to work, I can't get its properties and it appears as a a square. Do you know if it is supposed to work?
The Calendar widget has a "Uninstall" btn int the Extension Manager. But the other widgets don't have an "Install" btn: how should I install the other widgets from the extension manager, say I'd like to try "Icon picker"?
Is the extension manager stable?

Bonsoir François,

sorry for the delay.

Yes, the widgets SHOULD work, no idea why they don't!?
Will ask on the mailing list.

And the other widgets listed there are already part of LC, but are obviously only
for use in the IDE e.g. "Icon picker" is used by the IDE to select SVG graphics
for other widgets like "Segemented control" etc.
Is the extension manager stable?
Good question, looks like it does what it should but no idea if it is really stable.

Hi Francois,

I asked on the mailing list, but not much response there... :?

Looks like the mothership (again) changed the format of widgets in the new version.
Which means all "older" widgets need to be recompiled to work again, so we have to wait a bit more.

Hi Francois,
