iOS deployment - subscription based apps

Post by tonymac » Wed Mar 30, 2016 5:20 pm

Creating a Livecode app that is SUBSCRIPTION based... $5-$10/annual. Yes, very inexpensive... it's used by students/teachers. Want it to run on Mac/PC desktops and Android/iPhones. Presently not interested in it able to run on tablets. Would upload app to Apple/Google store. Really trying to avoid weeks/months of design/testing to find out that conceptually what I want to do will get rejected. Did read the App Store Review Guidelines on Apples website. Still got questions about how to interpret some of the guidelines pertaining to subscription based apps.

While I am not trying to circumvent the Apple Store and deprive them of their 30%, the Apple guidelines for apps relating to subscriptions creates way more questions than answers.

Anybody got advice on LC iOS apps that are subscription based and their acceptability on the Apple Store and what you had to do to get it accepted?

Thanks.

Hi, I just discovered Apples Subscription based App capability.
Is it possible to have an app on the App Store on a subscription basis?

It kind of looks like you need a shell of some kind and then purchase the Apps capability from within that app using the "In App Purchase" feature.
Is the case?

I don't really want to sell content from within the app I want the whole app to be a subscription.

Help anyone?,
Please.

Tom
