Video for windows without QT

I've been searching how to make video work on windows without Quicktime but i can't find a real solution, i've tried wtih the uncheck "load quicktime at start-up" didnt work, i dont know where is or where to put dontuseqt, i tried changing the codecs of the video files (mp4, avi, mpeg-1) nothing works, i just wanna know if it's possible to play video with LC on windows without the need of QuickTime, and if it's, how?
