Re: LiveCode vs. Web Dev Tools
Thanks amsterfrank for the decision to write an update on LC progress to this thread instead of starting a new one, as I'm subscribed to this topic and had a chance to read your post :) Nevertheless, my decision was to extend my career as a programmer with JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas,jQuery UI, node-js...

Re: LiveCode vs. Web Dev Tools
I would like to, but the Trial Period is ended and the IDE is not accessible anymore.
Probably a download link will appear after the Kickstarted campaign

Re: LiveCode vs. Web Dev Tools
Thanks for clarifying, I was a bit confused with this Open-source thingy because of previous 499$ spammy offering e-mails and thought that runrev just trying to run for the money in unhonest way.
I would like to apologize

Re: LiveCode vs. Web Dev Tools
Amazing! LiveCode goes Open Source! It was a necessary step to move forward, otherwise most beginners would just use HAML, Slim, SASS, CoffeeScript, with evolving Frameworks like AngularJS and other Free Open-source web tools and just forgot LiveCode It's sad though that educational stuff, extension...

Re: LiveCode vs. Web
Classic example of a troll, if no one feeds it, it should slink away. if everything you can say about some person's research and sharing opinions that he's a troll, then you are some offensive forum freak I am no professional, the "crazy formatting" of the head post is related to my sympathy to clo...

Re: LiveCode vs. Web
in the software business for a while it's just another form factor - and LiveCode covers the biggest platforms on both sides. not natively, not included in livecode IDE, you have to buy externals, i.e. MobGUI for 50$, DatePicker for 80$, SQL for 200$, Animation engine 80$, ... in contrast, web tech...

Re: LiveCode vs. Web
My livecode trial period is ended If I could make an agreement with runrev to pay license only after making some profit, I would be glad to share the revenue. But I need many months to turn my vision into a reality, into a cross-platform app, and I am not ready to pay license fees, because I am not ...

LiveCode vs. Web Dev Tools
still in doubt what to choose as the main development environment LiveCode is very alluring, but it's not free (I received 4-5 times invitations to buy the Gold account for 500$ !) HTML5 + JavaScript + CoffeeScript + Live Coding IDE + many many frameworks are free vs. LiveCode is $$$, LC Education i...

Re: Is LiveCode really Live?
Ctrl+period - aborts the script, thanks for the tip, Mark. Currently I have a lack of experience, will explore LiveCode documentation thoroughly before making any further statements. Dixie, LightTable supports only Javascript, Clojure and Python - you can't deploy dektop applications with them. The ...

Re: [SOLVED] Is there a 5.5 trial available somewhere?
Not yet. I have another, not programming-related job that I have to do for the living and that I cannot abandon currently. In the meantime I am doing a research in the field of programming, because that is the work that I really eager to do in the future. The reason why I don't want to pay for any l...

Re: [SOLVED] Is there a 5.5 trial available somewhere?
Why they don't use some simple issue-tracker system like MantisBT, Redmine or any other BugTracker system?
I will definitely use such systems with vote-based feature requests and bug reports, when finally deploy some app

Re: Is there a 5.5 trial available somewhere?
Ohh that's frustrating
So, basically there's only e-mail correspondence exists between the user and developers?
Then how quickly they fixing the bugs and honor new features requests?
Just received an e-mail about addition of the newer 5.5.3 Trial to the Products list
