Here is my opinion...
Until now, I have resisted the "temptations" to upgrade... I continue to use LiveCode... 5.5.3 !
I know, I should be ashamed
but i use mainly datagrids and queries to SQL databases. LC 5.5.3 is fast and reliable.
Anyway.
Finally, LC 8 came out. I tried it.
First feelings :
-mee too I lost time to use the treeview... No clear documentation
-the interface looks... strange, but i guess habits play a role there
-but my main problem is.... speed, reactivity.
I use a beautiful Lenovo with SSD, Windows 8 64 bits, Intel I7 4710HQ 2.5 GHz with 8 GB Ram.... and LC 8 seems to me "clunky", slow, not as reactive as before (i'm talking about the use of the IDE, creating objects, opening script etc). I didn't make tests about script performances, I'm just talking about.. handling LC.
Or is it because my comparison point (LC 5.5.3) makes it difficult ?
