What screen dimension is recommended for development in order to use automatic scaling to adjust for larger devices?

There's no real "best" size. I usually use 400x800 just because it's big enough to work with on screen and fits a lot of phones. But I've also used iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus sizes. Use whatever is comfortable.
