Hi

I went through all the manuals re-interpreted the timings and sent different codes , hieroglyphics, hex codes (decimal ASCII etc etc) and still got the sliver of paper which was not professional unless you are a supermarket and you print a receipt after every sale which my market doesn't.

Tha's why i went the usb box which worked but ... kept changing the virtual com port on the sun rising. So thanks for confirming to me that I needed a virgin to sacrifice to get the hex codes to work

Since i have already made a similar project my suggestions are:
1. Use MySQL for your database (http://www.uniformserver.com is a great start since its portable.) Forget about sockets, its pointless.
2. Do some research to have your queries server based, makes your app faster.
3. Use an existing POS system to get some examples of how your UI should look like ( whats fields you need etc.)
