LC 6.6 IDE keeps locking up at irregular intervals [solved]

I don't have much more info that that, and since you've got the correspondence started already maybe you could ping Ben and tell him? If the problem is cross-platform then it means the error is in the engine-specific code so probably fixing it for Windows will also fix it for Mac. Or at least, that's what I'm betting on.

I'm not quite sure my client saw exactly the same thing though. The window is not blank, it just stops updating in a partially re-drawn state.

I was in the script editor and was pressing the up arrow when the script editor went completely white, the app GUI turned completely black, and the LC tool and menu bar also went completely white. Prior to pressing the up arrow LC had been inactive for maybe 30 seconds. LC didn't actually hang in that I was able to kill it using the Windows 'X'.

I was using LC 6.6 on Windows 7 (no plugins) - I've used LC 6.6 a fair bit on Mavericks and had no issues...yet

Just to wrap this up, Ian says the Mac problem isn't related to the Windows freeze. It's a Windows-only issue. Whatever my client is seeing, it's something else.

6.6.1 RC1 is out. Could please all that experienced lockups test if this release fixed it? I am travelling at the moment and thus can only check half heartedly, but will let a VM running to see if my lockups are fixed.

I just tested Livecode 6.6 (rc1) on Windows 7 64bit, after reverting to 6.5.2 due to the freezing issues in 6.6. I experienced a freeze up almost immediately after opening a stack, and then again within a minute of opening the same (stack that works fine in 6.5.2) Any other windows 7 64bit users experiencing this still?

I'm now using LiveCode 6.6.1 GM 1 and there are no more lock-ups.

Can anyone else who had the same problem please confirm whether LiveCode 6.6.1 GM 1 also solved it for you?

Seems to be working great on my end (win7 64bit). Will start using regularly and report back if I experience any issues. So long, 6.5.2!
