how are these external files eventually included into the standalone

Open standalone settings, go to copy files, add the binaries folder from rremicrophone

I've been absent from the forum and just saw your advice to rename the recordings. Merci.

Unfortunately, renaming did not help. Odd.

I make a recording. rename the file. Play it. All is good.
I try to record another. It fails.

Quit. Relaunch. Al the previous recording play. Record another. Good.
Try to record a second one. No go! Odd.

I just got an idea. Make a new name PRIOR to recording. I'll try and report.

No, naming PRIOR to recording doesn't work either.
