Automatically fill fields and press button in Web Browser
Ok so lets get creative here!
I am hoping to save the app user's user name and password for a certain site into livecode so that they dont have to log in every time. Is there a way to enter text into a field and press a submit button by using script?
Is this possible? How would I be able to go about it?

Hi William,
I've looked into this before, and from my experience the answer is "NO".
My reasoning for accepting this is that people could set up machine password attacks, no one wants those. Even from LC.
I'm guessing that IT would have to give you special username/password entrance.

You could look at just submitting the user's login/password to the server and bypass having to fill in the website login page (just use your app's own login feature).. Take a look at the post command..

Ok I will look into that. And yes, I realize that this is probably a very touchy subject considering what it can be used for. What about reskinning the log in page so the whole thing did not have to load? I could just do the whole web brower thing but god damn the website is slow on mobile. Any insights?

Hire a better web developer
Re: Automatically fill fields and press button in Web Browse
Do you *need* it to interact with the website?
How about sockets?
How about URL variables?
Any programming language can be used to create hacking tools, so that's completely beside the point.
LiveCode can use POST, so you could POST a "form" created by yourself in LC which corresponds to the form on the website.
But really, the question is why do you need to interact with the website?

Data retrieval about the status of a web service users online account. I think somewhere using the "post" command and talking to my web developer I can figure it out. Thanks guys!
