A student sent her a series of pictures in the .heic format . . .

. . . after fiddling around on Linux and getting nowhere she wrote a suitably
forceful email back to the student which we can basically summarise as "JPEG."
Supposedly the latest version of GIMP can read .heic, but had no joy this morning when I tried.
HOWEVER; if .heic is "the coming thang" I wonder if there is any chance of LIveCode gaining the ability
to import them soon?
My wife had a problem this morning.

HEIC is a container format. Some codecs used within it are patent-encumbered, so the most efficient uses are also likely the rarest.
