server migration to quartz

Post by hrcap » Tue Mar 10, 2020 12:25 am

Hi All

I have just been migrated to the new hosted server.

When I post to the server to request data from the server it work fine unless I post the following (note that this used to work fine until the migration):

MODE_DEVELOPMENT=mode_test&DATA_RETURN_FORMAT=~~~_separated&SQL=select COLUMN_NAME from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS IC where TABLE_NAME = 'DELETED_RECORDS'

the part in particular which seems to be causing the error is:

select COLUMN_NAME from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS IC

if this part is replaced with someone like

select name from names

then it will work fine.

in which case the following error is returned

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>500 Internal Server Error</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Internal Server Error</h1>
<p>The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete
your request.</p>
<p>Please contact the server administrator at
webmaster@beefficientsoftware.livecodehosting.com to inform them of the time this error occurred,
and the actions you performed just before this error.</p>
<p>More information about this error may be available
in the server error log.</p>
<p>Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p>
</body></html>

Any help would be appreciated as I have absolutely no idea where to start on this one

many thanks

Hi,
error 500 also comes up when no output is returned to the browser. Could you try and add a line with

Code: Select all

put "whatever you want"
to your script?
Does the error 500 still comes up?

another thing.

Maybe on the old system an older version of Livecode server was running, while quartz now has a newer version installed which maybe is more restrictive.

Did you use libformdata to format the data before sending/posting it to the server?
If not, could you try to convert your data before posting?

Code: Select all

put liburlformdata("MODE_DEVELOPMENT","mode_test","DATA_RETURN_FORMAT","~~~_separated","SQL","select COLUMN_NAME from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS IC where TABLE_NAME = 'DELETED_RECORDS'") into tDataToPost
tDataToPost contains the formatted data which should be posted

Thanks for the reply much appreciated

when using liburlformdata is there another command that I must you on the server to 'un-form' the data from the url format?

Many Thanks

No. This should work automatically.

Hi All

I hope that everyone is staying safe and well.

Matthiasr, thank you very much for your input, liburlformdata solved the problem, as you stated where the server was upgraded to a newer version which is more 'strict' it was causing an issue.

I have now been through all of my scripts and amended them to use this method and it is working no problem.

Many Thanks
