It is the little ponderances like this that keep me from going over to full-tilt senility, I'll take what I can get

Ya gotta worry when Heather puts energy into trying to convince us there's no conspiracy.

Yah, that is *exactly* the feeling I was getting
Re: WHY?? is the forum set back to saturday 24 august?
I think different services and caches and ISPs are at least part of the answer. On my home network, I am getting nothing but the last "old" state. Today out and using my phone's mobile data service, I see the "new" version again. This means I can see those posts that were lost after the "move", on the home network. I have copied those ones I made. If I notice which differences were made, I might copy some from other users, if I get a chance.
Sometime, again when I might get to do so, I can reinsert those "missing" posts here again. Maybe.

That is very generous! If you see some of mine, tell them I said "Hi"
Re: WHY?? is the forum set back to saturday 24 august?
Too late, my isp had caught up with their caching by the time I got back.

I give up.
Good bye until next year. Perhaps the "maintenance" and all by that forced errors are gone until then.

I don't trust that posts in the forum will stay and livecodeshare/Sample Stacks isn't ready for updates/uploads...

We're using the forums now, for this very discussion.
In the 15+ years the forums have been here, down time has been on par or better than the Ubuntu forums, as one example I'm familiar with.
Like those, we've had only a couple DNS updates and a few off-lines over that decade and a half.
I can't claim to have perfect infrastructure maintenance myself, even with fewer and smaller systems, so I'm not in a position to offer a free alternative. But if anyone here can outperform the LC team maybe we can explore such a community driven solution.

Re: WHY?? is the forum set back to saturday 24 august?
Once again, I apologise for the glitches and any lost messages. I don't think many are actually lost, most will have caught up as the DNS got itself sorted out. But if any are lost, I apologise. This transition was not as smooth as we would have liked, despite the extensive planning and testing carried out beforehand. There just isn't really any way to test transferring 20+ years worth of work totalling 500GB spread over multiple domains and subdomains. Something was bound to trip up...
We should have warned you guys, that was an error on our part. Always expect the worst.
We should be all set now. (Touch wood).
Best Regards,
Heather
