Introduction - Me and LiveCode
Hi, finally into LiveCode, that is, with a Community + License. I started coding with Fortran - punch cards, then Apple BASIC, Microsoft BASIC (Paid work), Hypercard (Paid work), a splash of SuperCard (Paid work ONCE!), Macromedia/Adobe Director/Lingo (Lots of paid work), & ended with one Adobe Flash/ActionScript project, but as producer ( pet • dogshome • com ). I never got into C development due to strange twists in my employment history.
I also co-founded local Melbourne Australia Apple User Group in 1980 ( www • ausom • net • au ) and also started the local Macromedia/Adobe User Group later (Now closed), until all halted for health reasons, but here I am full circle back to HyperCard of sorts but in LiveCode form, thanks to the new licence options.
I’m also an emerging artist ( davemarkturk • wordpress • com/about-2/ ) where I have exhibited twice working with light and xxxx, where xxxx could be kinetic motion, or climate art^^, or whatever I choose xxxx to be. I use Arduino things, and also have an interest in Raspberry Pi, once some hurdles are overcome.
I also work with web/SEO guru chrisburgess • com • au
Questions?

Hi.
If you know HC, you already know a lot about LC. It is from you, however, that we expect questions.

Welcome aboard, Dave. Your name seems familiar. Were you active in the SuperCard forum on AOL back the day?

Re: Introduction - Me and LiveCode
While your post offers a sort of potted, and slightly confusing, CV (and posting the URLs as
real URLs might not be a bad idea), it dosn't really tell us what you intend to do with
LiveCode.
Oh, and you'll have to get used to me as I tend to be a bit of a negative sort of critic
round these parts.
As long as you realise that nothing is meant personally you probably won't start
chasing me with a virtual light-saber.

New accounts don't have the ability to do that, for security reasons (robospam mitigation settings).richmond62 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 6:55 pmWhile your post offers a sort of potted, and slightly confusing, CV (and posting the URLs as

With such a broad pedigree I'm guessing perhaps more than one thing. I don't mind an intro message. Kinda nice, actually.it dosn't really tell us what you intend to do with
LiveCode.

Well, if this chap has the solid-gold pedigree that is claimed for him, then, perhaps heNew accounts don't have the ability
should be permitted to post URLs right from the start.

In light of this:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32093&p=175875#p175874
the "honeymoon period" begins to look more sensible.
