How to populate the default "About" info on mac applications

Post by CoreySchroeder » Mon Sep 14, 2015 4:34 pm

Hey there,

New to LiveCode and trying my hand at a few small mac based apps to get started.

On mac, every application has a default tab in the top bar menu that allows you to access more information about the application.
It looks like people usually populate this page with release notes, notes about the developers, copyright info, etc..

I cant figure out how I can add this "About" information onto mac apps that I create.
When I compile the standalone version, the "About" line is grayed out, but is present on all of my applications.

I hope this makes sense.
I appreciate your time!

In the User Guide (accessed from the Help menu) see section 7.13.6, "Menu Barts on Mac OS Sytems". Near the bottom of page 258 you'll find the specific details related to your question of how LiveCode adjusts menus for cross-platform compatibility, though the section as a whole is well worth reading.

Thank you, FourthWorld, for the info.
I'll check that section out this evening.
