The Lesson 8 - Stocks App

Video 1 is not completed or Video 2 missing first part.

Video 1 finished with creating Line Chart and Video 2 has suddenly more control and a lot of scripts behind the stack.

Also the quality of Video 2 compare to Video 1 on that Stocks App lesson is not good and I can hardly see what's the code.

just checked the website.

1. You know that there are 2 (TWO) videos for "Lesson 1" and "Lesson 2"?
Lesson 1 - UI | Lesson 1 – Code
Lesson 2 - UI | Lesson 2 – Code
Maybe you missed one?

2. I watched them online and did not notice any of your observed inconveniences!?

3. Did you watch the videos online or offline?
Did not check the offline videos, but maybe they are smaller to save bandwidth?

4. If online, what platform and browser did you use?

Hi Klaus,

I was watching online

then picked 8 - Stocks

This video is superb no issue here then I clicked on the bottom of that video to go to next topic which is
https://livecode.com/topic/device-orientation/

It should be XML so I tried to click on XML on right side but it is exactly the same link so the same video so definitely something not right there.
Device orientation video should be the 4th video of lesson 8

You can notice in screenshots the URL also you can see how UI in part 1 is looking and compare how UI looks like in the beginning of part 2 of lesson 8

Maybe I am stupid but I can not find in Lesson 8 - as you are suggesting part 2 of creating UI and suddenly in video 2 I can see a lot of lines of code that have been pasted into stack and cards.
I am watching using chrome and quality is bad when the screen is recorded on mac as soon as she is dragging and dropping the objects or scrolling scripts, it takes like 1 second to sharp/focus the video.

Antrax13 - I'm not sure, but the problem could be that you do not have access to the Stocks app? Your Livecode account does not seem to have a Create it with LiveCode license in it. You should then only have access to the first 4 apps, included in the trial, which does not include Stocks. (Which of course begs the question why any of the Stocks videos are displaying for you...)

Our company has 2 indy licenses with price lock expired in 2017 it was purchased by our business it controller.

When I log in I can see all 20 apps including quiz and access all lessons/videos.

Lesson 8 - Stock App is not properly done and one video part of building UI is probably missing. You can easily see it from screenshots.

Upon further investigation it does look like the second UI video is missing. I will put in a request to have this updated on the materials page. In the mean time, you can directly access the video from the following links-
