Lesson 1 group and stretch buttons with new mobgui version

Post by charms » Tue Mar 18, 2014 1:35 am

With the new mobgui version how can i group and stretch the buttons like in the video of Lesson 1? It says ALT + double click. This however does not work. I had to align the buttons manually. I didn't find another way to do it up to now.

According to this thread, it may not be available in the new version of MobGUI, and we should continue using the last version with the course before transitioning into the newer update.

Hi Charms,

Sefro is correct with the forum link. As i mentioned in this post, It does seem that this feature is not present in the new version of mobGui.

You may wish to inquire about this in the mobGui forum, as this is where the mobGui developer aims to answer all questions regarding his product-

Hi there,

I just discovered yesterday that I can align the buttons by selecting the buttons, open the Object Inspector choose "Align Objects" and then distribute across card. This will align the buttons equally. So it's not possible over the MobGUI Plugin but over the LiveCode functionality.

Kind regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for letting us know of this workaround for the missing mobGui functionality. More information of Alignment of object in LiveCode can be found in the following lesson

I cannot get the .29 version of mobGUI to work with the iOS simulators? Anyone else have any issues with this?

Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,

If possible, could you elaborate a little more on the issue? e.g. are buttons/fields not working? are native control not working?

Could I also double check that you have added the mobGui preOpenCard scripts that are required for mobGuis operation. These can be added via the "Add preOpenCard code to card script" button from within mobGui

Kind Regards,

None of the fields worked. Aka buttons or textfields or nav bar. I did not know we where suppose to "Add preOpenCard code to card script." Nothing was mentioned in the lessons?

That fixed it though thanks a million!

See ya,
Sean
