I have not installed 4.5.3 as of yet, but looking through the release notes I didn't see anything relating to improving video playback functionality on IOS. I was wondering if anyone knows whether you can playback a video in non-full screen mode?

iOS does not offer any non fullscreen video playback (outside of the ipad) actually.
if you don't use the iOS one provided you lose hardware acceleration of movies completely, in which case the cpu hit is serious.
