Hey everyone,

Has anyone encountered this issue where LiveCode just constantly drops to the bottom layer of all the windows on your desktop when working on it.

It has got worse, perhaps with an OS update. Is there any solution to this? It's driving me insane

If you mean the backdrop, yeah it’s been problematic since 9.6.1 at least. Only realistic solution is to switch it off (sadly).

That does not sound like the backDrop.

@Aduro99. When this "drop" occurs, do you mean that all the current windows on screen are visible, but the LC window is suddenly covered by others?

I have implemented a substack-as-backdrop several times, as, Yes, the inbuilt backdrop is second rate.

I never use backDrop, but again, this does not sound like a backDrop issue.

I can't imagine what else this statement would mean??? Perhaps Aduro91 can clarify.

Personally, with the backdrop on, I constantly had other windows interspacing themselves between the backdrop, stack windows and tool palettes - which sounds like LC 'dropping to the bottom layer' to me...

On Linux I constantly lose the tools palette behind the backdrop (9.6.3). Basically, while I'd like to have the backdrop on, it's too buggy to permit.

All LC windows go to the bottom of the layer of all the windows I have open. That includes the project I'm working on and the grey backdrop thing.

I removed backdrop and its better now, thanks so much everyone!!
