I'm contemplating taking the (financial) leap to Create. Has it been an eye-opener or has it been a bit ho-hum. Has it changed your development environment for the better? How would you rate it out of 10?

I have paid for it and still waiting to see...

As it is now, for me, it can't be used.

Just to give an example, after the initial campaign a page was created https://livecode.com/create-resources which says:

"We will continue to add more videos to this page. Stay tuned!"

There are 4 videos since the beginning and nothing else has been added.

In my view it is "0" for now, hopping to became "10" in the near future

No: it is not a 'game-changer' as many, many other companies changed the game a long time ago.

LiveCode may have thrown away their 'baby': LiveCode as we love and know it, for a damp squib.

I wish they had stuck with LiveCode.

I used Livecode Create on a Mac quite extensively. It is in alpha so I am not worried that a lot of features are not working yet.
The interface is completely overhauled. As with all interfaces it takes some time to get used to it. The interface is a lot cleaner than in LC and mostly intuitive.
But I see where it is headed and think it is a big step forward to appeal to a contemporary user base.
Unfortunately the new widgets still lack even basic documentation. The videos by Stephen are very helpful. The fact that there are not more is probably due to the fact that at present there is not much more to show.
The one widget where I could figure the syntax is the "Simple List".
I tested it by throwing 22000+ records at it and it was extremely responsive.
It was the color names for section "Title" and the rgb values of those for section "SubTitle". I also switched the between two databases for the same widget and it all was instantaneous. This performance was more than I expected.

You can also run Livecode Create in a so called "Classic" mode which is what LC 10 looks like now and what is familiar to those using LC now albeit without the features of "Create". The classic mode will probably eventually the only option after the LC 10.x.x cycle of LC.

Then there is also a browser based version of Create which is in sync with the desktop version and which I think is an incredible feat to port LC Create into a browser.

I am confident that Livecode Create is the way forward and hope it attracts a new type of users.

"Livecode Create is a way forward".

I still do not understand why LiveCode 10 could not have had the same (optional to revert to Classic mode) type of ide change as it was supposed to have as Create. AI could also have been added with proberbly not too much difficulty.

It just feels a sad waste to me.

Due to the licencing options for Internal Apps and after spending a bit of time with Python, Ive now moved to Flutter/Dart, mainly due to having total freedom over the design of appps built. This is mighty powerfull but no where as easy as LiveCode Classic, although there is a paid for drag and drop builder called FlutterFlow https://www.flutterflow.io/ that can take some of the pain away.

Not having a free to try option for Create I do not understand. How many people here would subscribe to a product without be able to try it out first, just a crazy way of NOT getting to new users!

1. On clicking 'Sign up' I land on the LiveCode page with no obvious way to, erm, sign up.

2. It tells anyone interested absolutely NOTHING about what 'LiveCode Create' might be.

3. Searching for the term 'create' on the LiveCode page leads one to a Blog: and the latest entry is from July this year.

Someone is not exactly falling over backwards to sell their product.

Not really because it excludes:

1. People like myself who are perfectly aware of what LiveCode 'Classic' has to offer and are quite happy, still, using the Open Source version (and the open source continuation project), but would like to see Create and decide whether they want to pay for a licence.

2. People who have no interest in LiveCode 'Classic', but are interested in Create.
