I guess I'm one of the few people still using Dreamcard. I'm on version 2.7.2. I vaguely recall it will be expiring some time in the next few months.

I'm probably going to be using some version or other of RR for a long, long time, so I gotta be prepared.

I can't figure out exactly when my Dreamcard licese expires. How do I find out? When it expires, does it stop working? If not, what changes when it expires? (This doesn't seem to be mentioned in the docs. Maybe it should be.)

Last I heard, anything I'm doing with Dreamcard, I can do with Media. I recall there are one or two exceptions. Maybe database inquiries. ( I don't need that.)

Can I still safely assume that my Dreamcard stacks will operate normally when I move to Media?

Dreamcard is still being provided as a courtesy to our existing customers who still have valid update packs for Dreamcard. Once the last of those expire, it will no longer be supported. Now is a good time to look at your options for moving, either to Media or Studio. Which is better for you depends on what you want to do with the program. For hobbyist use, people who don't need to build standalone applications, will never use database connection or cgi's, don't need to convert HyperCard stacks, and like using templates, Media is a good choice.

If you are running a business, code security is an issue at all, you need to build standalones, databases are an element in your life, or you might ever need faceless applications, you want to look hard at Studio.

Whoa! Media can't convert HC stacks?!

I dunno... Maybe most of the HC stacks that are going to get converted to RR have already been converted. It doesn't affect me anymore.

Still, it seems like a needless barrier to new RR users.
