Images going black
LC 9.6.1 Community
macOS 11.0.1 Beta
Importing a series of PNG images into the first card of a stack is lovely, importing or copy-pasting the same images into the second card
is not:
- - -
This is a big pain in the bum as I rely on this sort of thing for online teaching 5-6 year old Bulgarians English.
There is a work-around which involves cloning the first card.
Although, why at this stage of maturity of LiveCode one should have to do this sort of fiddle-faddle escapes me.

Re: Images going black
Further to this, if one opens a second stack in the same session all PNG images also import as solid black.
Re: Images going black
Can you please post one of these images here?

Re: Images going black
Prepared with GIMP.
I have not experienced that problem until now: so, probably,
a conflict between macOS 11.0.1 beta and LC 9.6.1.

Re: Images going black
I assume this is a problem with macOS 11 Beta; so shall send
feedback to Apple.

Re: Images going black
Oddly enough this phenomenon crops up in the Macintosh standalone enerated from that stack:
- - -
BUT that is the second card: imagery is preserved on the first card.
I would be grateful if somone could try the standalone out on macOS 10.15 / 10.14:

Re: Images going black
Thanks.
That is very odd as the original stack renders the images on card 2 perfectly alright.

Re: Images going black
The feedback should go to LC's bug database, not Apple. That's more likely where the problem is.
But it would be good to know how you're referencing the second image, as that's where the problem may be. Is is an imported copy? Referenced from disk? Copied from the first card?

Re: Images going black
Under macOS 11.0.1 beta LiveCode 8 doesn't do any better with PNG images than LC 9.6.1:

Re: Images going black
Did you use the Import Control menu item, or paste into the stack? This looks a little like a bad alpha channel. If you use jpg does it work?

Re: Images going black
I used the Import Control menu item.
Hang on a mo' while I see what happens with jpgs . . .
- -
This is a "random" jpg I downloaded from the internet: on initial import it displays correctly.
On quitting LiveCode and reopening the stack it diplays correctly.
A standalone also renders correctly.
I would like to point out that while running macOS 10.15 I had NO problem with png images prepared with GIMP.
Tomorrow I'll see what happens with a random png image from the internet.
