Kaspersky reports virus
Suddenly today Kaspersky anti-virus deleted a file from my Livecode installation and now Livecode cannot validate my license. Itried reinstalling however the same file was deleted immediately. I did a full virus scan a couple of days ago without any problems. Anyone else have this problem?
Kaspersky message reads
Result description : Deleted
Type : Trojan
Name : Trojan.Win32.Udochka.zv
Precision : Exactly
Threat level : High
Object type : File
Object name : revsecurity.dll
Object path : C:\Program Files\RunRev\LiveCode Indy 9.6.1
MD5 : BC888DFCCB5712586667342AF1E88E96
Windows 10 Home 64bit
Thanks - Matthew

Re: Kaspersky reports virus
Someone in the LiveCode dev FaceBook group posted about this too, it happened after a recent update to their virus definitions from Kaspersky.matty47 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:47 amSuddenly today Kaspersky anti-virus deleted a file from my Livecode installation and now Livecode cannot validate my license. Re: Kaspersky reports virus
Avast has flagged one of my compiled apps as containing Malware. Oddly, after it quarantined it, I built it as a standalone again (didn't change a thing) and it scanned it and declared it safe.
Re: Kaspersky reports virus
Hi Matty,
You can have the file scanned by all antivirus at once here : https://www.virustotal.com/gui/
Not that it will solve your problem, but its interesting to see how other antivirus detect it, then you maybe able to share the results to the (oops) Kaspersky team for more help

Re: Kaspersky reports virus
At the moment I have excluded the Livecode installation folder from the virus scan and all is working OK. I'll try on the next update of Kaspersky to see if the false positive has been resolved.

Re: Kaspersky reports virus
You should report the false positive to Kaspersky, if enough people do they'll probably remove it from their list in their next update.
Re: Kaspersky reports virus
..maybe Kaspersky just hardened their Detection algos after what happened to Thousands of biz lately :
