Your posted error message „rev_slider...“ indicates that you are working with Slider Revolution, a Wordpress builder. This forum is all about the development tool Livecode, formerly known as Revolution, and has nothing to do with Slider Revolution.

"She" is the first such poster who's actually replied, but not with anything related to LC. Should I continue to hold out hope there's an actual interest in LC somewhere here, or just nix this thread?

Mmm.... I would say she gave a "response" but not a "reply". Or at least, definitely not an "answer".
Just more off-topic semi-random text that would be vaguely in context if this forum did deal with rev_slider plugin for WordPress. But no attempt to reconcile the posting here with it being a forum for LiveCode, even after the explanation by Matthias. So I suspect the response was also made after some rudimentary keyword analysis by machine and not from human reading, even by a non-native English speaker.
Marisa doesn't pass the Turing Test for me, but I could be wrong, and there's no spam yet, so interesting to see if there will be further interaction. I am absolutely certain that there's no interest in LiveCode from the OP.

The style of writing is similar to, but does not quite match, popular forum spam scripts.

I have reason to believe the poster is human, but since my question was ignored I have been given no reason to believe this thread has anything to do with LiveCode.

And since this thread is marida202011's only participation here, I have little to justify maintaining the account here.

But since I do have reason to believe the account is at least human, I'll give marisa202011 one more day to explain her interest in setting up an account in a forum dedicated to learning LiveCode.

I am absolutely certain that there's no interest in LiveCode from the OP.

On that, I think we all are in agreement ha ha.

The only reason(s) I voted to give it some time were as follows -
* Have seen a lot of posts from those barely / not able to formulate english sentences (no sin, btw, from all I understand, english sucks).
* Have seen a lot of posts from those not familiar with technology (in any form)
* Didn't follow standard bot patterns I've seen previously

Of course, in the end, we may never know, I see that the first post has been altered, which also falls outside of the bot patterns I've seen previously.

That may be true today. I'm more interested in tomorrow.

I've met many people over the years who were stuck in dead-end jobs, picked up LiveCode, learned to make good software, and their lives took off in a new, more rewarding, direction.

For everything software has accomplished so far, we are now living in a historic moment in which the availability of good software will be a key factor in the survivability of millions of organizations.

A tool like LiveCode can help with the ten thousand categories of software that big companies can't afford to focus on. A company the size of Adobe, for example, can't get out of bed in the morning unless they can make millions doing it. They have massive overhead, and must limit themselves to general-purpose apps serving large markets just to cover their expenses.

But organizations don't fall out of a cookie cutter. No one sets out to build a business that's an exact replica of another. At a minimum, they'll differentiate on price. Goes for non-profits too. They will differentiate. No one takes on the risk, expense, long hours, and nightmares of nagging uncertainty needed to build an organization unless they feel they have something unique to offer.

All those unique ways of doing things can't be served with off-the-shelf software. Sure, the generic back-office stuff can. But not the stuff which is the reason the organization exists.

And that's where LiveCode comes in. Suddenly it's affordable to build niche systems that uniquely support the unique methods the org was created to fulfill.

And no matter how well those orgs were doing thus far, every one of them is undergoing radical transformation right now. Most regions across the world are operating under self-quarantine; a majority of workers accustomed to going to an office every day are now working from home. The mix of products and services most useful right how requires a deep pivot for many industries. And all these orgs need to manage radical change remotely.

Much of what will be needed can be assisted with software. And the trend nudging toward cloud-based collaboration is now a bold shove. And much of that can be supported more effectively with UIs dedicated to the task, beyond the browser.

LiveCode is a great toolkit for exactly that.

So when someone stumbles into these forums, it's less interesting to me to focus on playing gatekeeper than it is to see if I can help toward finding useful outcomes.

Let's see what happens here.
