Crashing all the time now
This is getting a little scary. Same stack in both 9.0.4 and 9.5. Mac OS 10.13.4.
I am now saving every keystroke. This is happening while in the debugger. I actually upgraded to 9.5 hoping that my travail with 9.0.4 would improve.
Nope.
I will restart, and pray.

Re: Crashing all the time now
What happens when you use 9.6, which includes the fix for frequent crashes reported and fixed in v9.0.5?

Richard.
I am a little leery of using a not-yet-stable version. But I will make copies and try.
Thanks.

Re: Crashing all the time now
I keep multiple versions of LC installed, usually at least the most recent build and the most recent Stable. MacOS makes this especially easy with their app bundles, but I've never had issues with multiple installs on Windows or Linux either.

Re: Crashing all the time now
Well, the whole thing may not be related to LC at all. After simply restarting my machine, I have been working just fine for the last two hours, mainly in the debugger in 9.5.
On another note, one of the "crashes" last evening was because I got a dialog telling me that I could not save the stack I was working on because "my disk was full". I had to force quit LC. Perhaps this also was remedied with the restart.
Sorry for the scare, though I was the most scared.

Re: Crashing all the time now
Curious. How much space is free on the main drive?

Re: Crashing all the time now
Richard.
Oh, about 890 GB.
I know that a billion is not what it used to be, but...
Crashed again a little while ago. In the debugger, just poof. Blank screen. Restarted again. Watch this space.
I know you have always said that LC should never crash. But how much does this depend on the machine and whatever else is going on in it?

Re: Crashing all the time now
I reported three crash logs for LC 9.5.1 rc1 macOS 10.14.6 in the last 8 days!
Out of a sudden poof and goodbye LC...

Any improvement with 9.6 DP1?

Re: Crashing all the time now
I have had the same crash problem with the debugger in LC 9.5.1.
In LC 9.6 dp1 this problem no longer occurs, saving me a lot of time being able to use the debugger again instead of using.
Working on Windows 10.
Regards,
Paul

Re: Crashing all the time now
All.
Paul is in Windows, and Klaus and I are on a Mac. This means that it has nothing to do with my particular machine, nor with a particular OS.
There is something about the debugger that is the cause; I have not seen any issue with a stack simply doing its thing.

Re: Crashing all the time now
There was a crasher in the debugger that was fixed recently.

Re: Crashing all the time now
My crashes did not happen in the debugger, just wanted to copy an object name
from the field in the inspector in one case.
