New Dictionary woes

Is there any way to get back the old LC Dictionary? I find the one in LC 8.x to be really... well, weird and not particularly helpful! I saw just now, in the 'Guide' tab in the Dictionary, that screengrabs of the old-style Dictionary are used. It was actually noticably more functional and fluid than the new one.
(Also, surely there should be more in the entry for "platform" than what's in the LC 8 Dictionary! That's nothing more than a placeholder thing, right? And what's with the chunk of text that shows immediately underneath? Screengrab for illustration:

Hi thatkeith,
Please try the dictionary in 8.1 DP 3, it is a significant improvement on that of prior release of LC 8.
I *think* the problem you might be having with 'platform' is that you are looking at the glossary entry for the word platform rather than the entry for the platform function. Again, it should be more obvious in the 8.1 DP 3 dictionary which is which.
Kind Regards,
Ali

(The bug with the 'chunk of text underneath' has also been fixed in that release)

(also if you scroll down below that chunk of text in the list of entries, you should see the actual dictionary entry for the platform function below)
