Hi Shawn,

well, the screenshot says it all, you need a separate license to export to HTML5!
Yes, the INDY license does not cover this

OTOH, the free community version CAN in fact export to HTML5!?
Don't ask me why... 8)

I thought as a Kickstarter VIP contributor HTML5 was part of the deal? Guess I was wrong.

Oh, that is possible, but I don't know.

Guess I'll wait for further clarification. It could be that some how they missed updating my license or my assumption was wrong. :)

I remember thinking the same thing and feeling disappointed too. I can see a business-case reason for not giving it away... but I could make my own case for bundling it; part of the whole 'build for ALL platforms' thing, among other reasons.
Give a CFO an income stream and it becomes devilishly hard to take it away from them later! (Which is them doing their job, after all.)

Guess I should add LC Community to my Applications folder...

And that doesn't make sense to me. VIPs contributed a great deal of money, and yet all of us are expected to give again and again and again. This was suppose to be a "Lifetime commercial license for all platforms". Several of us also contributed to the LC HTML5 campaign.

As a VIP Contributor I don't feel expected to contribute to any other campaigns, nor did I expect to get everything from all future campaigns. I contribute to those that offer things relevant to me at the time. I've supported some, skipped others. There's no obligation to support all of them, or any of them.
This was suppose to be a "Lifetime commercial license for all platforms".
...that existed at the time. I still have everything I signed up for. It never would have occurred to me that contributing to one project would entitle me to everything the team will ever release in the future.

Deployment to macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android is pretty good coverage, so good in fact I can't find any other high-level language with integrated GUI support that even tries. HTML is fun icing on that cake, but with native apps on every major platform my needs are so well met I don't see myself using LC's HTML deployment.
Several of us also contributed to the LC HTML5 campaign.
Most of those contribution options included a license for HTML deployment. If yours did and it's not working in your version you should contact support to see what happened with that.

I did, but haven't heard back yet. I contributed to both and HTML5 was suppose to be part of it.

When it's all said and done hopefully it's just that they missed me.

UPDATE: I just found the email from Heather where at one time HTML5 was missed on my account. I forwarded that same email to support. Evidently, it disappeared from my account again.

Hi Shawn,
Keep us updated on this as I thought I was supposed to get HTML as well.

The HTML5 crowd funding campaign would be the one that included HTML5. The earlier one happened before HTML5 output was even conceived as a product.

Will do Simon. I'm sure support will add it back, luckily I had the email from Heather where it was included in my funding of the campaign and she added it back then. It just disappeared for some reason.

Yeah, don't remind me... The San Diego conference was at the same time as HTML5 crowdfunding. I had to make the decision on which I should do. I even had a totally hot girl I could have stayed with down there...grrrr I chose funding.

Alright, I haven't heard back from LC support yet, but evidently I'm not functioning to my normal extreme high level of competence. :) It seems that instead of having a commercial license that covers everything (iOS, Android, OS X, Windows, Linux, Server, RPi and HTML5). I have a separate Indy license just for HTML5 in my account. So with that being said I if I want to deploy to HTML5 I have to select the license that only includes HTML5, and use my commercial license for OS X, Windows, Linux, etc (except HTML5).

Issued is solved. :)

Actually the lifetime commercial license I received from the Kickstarter was for all platforms now and in the future. I was not the only person who contributed at that level so I guess it applies to others as well. I also received the HTML5 as an addition to my license once it was released, but after I contacted support.
I also contributed to the HTML5 campaign but have never called on my entitlements.

As to why the open source version includes HTML5 and not the straight Indy, it's simple.

All open source must be released under GPL whereas the licensed versions allow you to 'close' source your product.

So you only need the paid license if you wish to not provide the source to whatever you are producing.
If you are happy to provide the source you can make what you like, charge what you like and use the open source version.
