VISTA Printing Woes

Greetings All,

Several years ago I wrote a fairly large program for a local company for estimation and inventory control purposes. Everything worked fine until VISTA came along.

Right now I have two issues that I have not been able to resolve.

1. When printing a report users are occasionally getting the "Revolution Engine for Win32 has stopped working" error message. The application has to quit and be started up again. I suspect that this may have to do with system resources not being adequate for the overhead VISTA requires, but I'm not sure. It only occurs during printing using various HP models and an Epson all-in-one.

This never happens on the machines running XP.

2. When first opening a proposal or contract, the documents print fine. After several contracts, proposals, or reports have been printed, something happens so that the first page is not printed or is only partially printed, and then the page is ejected. To get things working correctly again, the computer has to be restarted.

The partial print job is so weird because a word here or there might be printed but other words are left blank.

I checked the "Print Preview" button in the printers' dialog boxes, and the preview looks exactly like the printed version.

If I open a different application, printing works OK.

This makes it seem like I'm dealing with a bug in Revolution, but the fact that it happens on various models and brands of printers makes me think it is a VISTA thing.

I'm using Revolution 2.8.1.

Anybody have any wisdom or ideas?

Thanks in advance!
